Drool-Worthy Weekly: Tufenkian Rugs
May 27th, 2009 in Drool-Worthy Weekly. 2 Comments
Tufenkian makes some of the most luxurious carpets in the world! Their artisan rugs are handmade in Tibet and Armenia from only the finest wool. Once the wool has been spun, there are usually four to five workers for a 9’ x 12’ rug, which takes an astonishing 3,000 hours of human labor to complete! To read more about the process, click here.
The result is nothing short of extraordinary! The rugs are soft to the touch, beautiful in color, and resilient.

Judy used the Implied Arabesque rug in the living room at the 2008 ASID Showhouse.

The last two room shots are from Tufenkian’s website. Custom sizes and colors are available. To see the luxury for yourself, visit our studio.
