Freshen Up Your Holiday Decor!

You’ve probably spent the last few weeks pulling out your Christmas ornaments, holiday pillows, and trimmings.  Let us show you several of our favorite ideas you can incorporate for a new look!

First, consider a new color scheme!  Embrace the colors you have in your home and use them in your decorations for a custom holiday look that’s perfect for your space.

One of my favorite ideas for a unique, DIY Christmas tree is to create one using green painters tape.  It’s perfect for small spaces, kid’s rooms, and more!  I paired it with a felt ball garland, but you could hang paper snowflakes as ornaments or decorate it with Christmas bows!

Using oversized gift tags, I glued black and white family photos from winters past for a display that brings back so many fond memories.

Ornaments are available in so many fun colors and an easy way to pull your decor together.  Place them in the bottom of a lantern for an unexpected pop!  As shown in the photo on the left, you can use existing frames to add to the holiday cheer.  I found these free printable graphics on Pinterest.

Whatever you do, have fun and don’t be afraid to experiment!  I designed this for the current issue of Cary Magazine.  Pick up a copy today or check out the feature online here.
