2007 Wake County Parade of Homes
The Raleigh Area Home Builders Association Parade of Homes will feature some of Design Lines’ newest designs. We have partnered with some of our favorite builders in exciting new communities this fall to give you our best show yet! Design Lines blends modern living with traditional design in the John C. Sanders’s second phase of Balmoral Estates at MacGregor Downs. Long-time DLL friend, Woody Teague joins with us to bring Old Raleigh back to life in the Barony community; and John Dougher and Molly Simmons prove a great builder/designer team can perfectly create a classically elegant home, beautifully situated on a lot inside the Beltline. Be sure to see our Parade of Homes page.

Best Business Practices Conference in Las Vegas
Judy traveled to Las Vegas in September to continue her education and participation in the Best Practices Network specifically addressing the unique business model of the 21st Century Interior Design Firm. As a lifelong learner, she constantly searches for the newest and best ways to excel as a designer and business owner.

Brittany Ruch
Design Lines welcomed another member to their creative force this spring. Brittany Ruch rejoins us after finishing her final year in the BYU-Idaho interior design program. Originally from Illinois, Brittany is glad to come back to North Carolina and Design Lines as a Junior Designer after interning here last summer. Our newest ASID Allied Member, Brittany adds another fresh perspective to our already talented team.

Judy Pickett named trustee of the ASID Foundation
Judy was honored to be named a Trustee of the ASID Foundation last fall. The ASID Foundation is a foundation committed to education and research and issues that affect designers and the global community, such as sustainability and green design. With this appointment, Judy will blend her distinct voice with other leaders and visionaries in design awareness, like Ray C. Anderson of Interface, Inc..

Atlanta
Traveling to Atlanta in March, the Design Lines team participated in three days of intensive creative business seminars and a fun day of design resourcing at ADAC. This trip combined business education so vital to designers with a chance to see all the exciting resources we already use, discovering fabulous new products specifically for our clients, and learning from all ADAC had to offer—elevating our creativity to the next level.

Guest Speaker at BYU
Judy addressed interior design students and their parents as the keynote speaker of BYU-Idaho’s annual ASID Parents’ Week breakfast early this year. She also mingled with interested faculty, inspired some incredible students, and discovered the majesty of the Rocky Mountains. Judy took in the sights of iconic Jackson Hole, explored exclusive showrooms, and marveled at a private tour of the Four Seasons in Grand Teton Village.
