Judy Pickett, FASID
Judy has been described in glowing terms by the people with whom she works, but the one that fits the best (and the only one she'll let us print) is "Great Person." She's famed as much for her genuine focus on client needs as for her ability to visualize the perfect solution while standing in an empty room.

An incredibly committed and focused practitioner, Judy's projects span the east coast and her involvement with ASID (she's been a professional member since 1977) extends from the local to national level. In fact, at the 2005 ASID national conference, she was elevated to The College of Fellows – the highest honor bestowed on members. Judy founded Design Lines more than 20 years ago with the goal of providing truly professional interior design services - using her knowledge and experience to meet both the aesthetic and functional needs of her clients. Hundreds of projects, a three-page resume, numerous awards and uncounted volunteer ventures later, she's still going strong. She loves to share her knowledge and help train new generations of designers. And she couldn't be happier with where her hard work has taken her.

Molly Simmons, ASID
Perhaps the highest praise that one professional designer can offer another is a simple question: "Why didn't I think of that?"

In almost a decade and a half with Design Lines, Molly has earned high praise again and again, with fresh, innovative solutions that turn out to be exactly what clients want (even when they weren't really sure what they wanted), and a level of excitement and energy that is contagious.

Behind her design inspirations is an immense amount of training - and quite a bit of work, starting first thing in the morning ("hit turbo and go," as she puts it): meeting with clients, researching projects, and savoring the time she spends visiting showrooms, gathering resources and coming up with her creative brainstorms. She also gives back to her profession and her community, working with the American Cancer Society and the Carolinas Chapter of ASID.

Laurie WEBSTER
With almost twenty years in the office manager's chair, Laurie often functions as the eyes, ears and voice of the operation - she always knows where everything (and everyone) is, and she stays on top of all the various projects making their way through the office. Fortunately, she complements that huge storehouse of knowledge with good common sense, an easygoing personality and a highly refined sense of organization. From placing and tracking orders to working with vendors to easily answering clients' questions about project details, she's the person truly responsible for keeping all of Design Lines' ducks in a row.

Ashley Lane, allied member, ASID
Ashley has a certain something – described by those around her with words like energy, enthusiasm and spunk – that makes her indispensable to coworkers and clients alike. She balances an ability to not take herself too seriously with a unwavering focus on getting the job done right. Make that jobs, since Ashley handles everything from CAD drawing and sourcing accessories to meeting with contractors and fielding questions from clients. Fortunately, she thrives on facing different challenges every day. And she has both the confidence and the design skills to keep everything rolling right along.

Stephanie Poore, allied member, ASID
Following a brief detour through law school, Stephanie came to her senses and earned an Interior Design degree from Meredith College – to go with her Business Management degree from NC State. From her earliest part-time days at Design Lines, she displayed a remarkable combination of focus, passion and attention to detail on the one hand, and, on the other, friendliness, good humor and a sunny disposition. Whether utilizing her sharp design sense, displaying her amazing computer skills or asking thoughtful questions, Stephanie is a true asset with our clients. She’s also universally hailed as a pleasure to work with.

Brittany Ruch, allied member, ASID
Even as an interior-design undergrad at Brigham Young University-Idaho, Brittany demonstrated remarkable insight and initiative: she did her research and decided that Design Lines was the place she wanted to do her internship. And almost from the moment she arrived that summer, Judy knew Brittany was someone she wanted to add to the team full time. Maybe it was because her ambition is matched by her fresh thinking, outgoing personality and amazing ability to get the details just right. Maybe it was her heart of gold and down-to-earth demeanor. In any case, she was a perfect fit. And fortunately, she’s back for good.
